Why is gerard way afraid of teenagers

Sure, a few f's and s's can be heard in the lyrics, but that shouldn't take away the overall message of it. In truth, amidst the dark and eerie music videos, a story of hope is being voiced out if you connect all the songs. Second, bad influences is not really a big issue.

To be frank, lead singer, Gerard Way, is actually a good example. He overcame his addiction of drugs, is a good father and husband, and is a Catholic according to one of his Twitter posts. If your problem is the songs, it doesn't have a bad message either.

Like what I said a while ago, the story is a hopeful one. All in all, this probably just a PG album. Few curse words here and there, but not something you can teach your kids about. Im 13 and I've been listening to MCR ever since i was 6. It has Some Cursing that you should be aware of but it doesnt have a bad or suicidal message in any of the songs. Adult Written by HiddlesSkittles January 1, Don't say that because you are most likely a parent who listened to Welcome to the Black Parade and assumed that all their songs were like that.

Also absolute bull. Most of the fans of MCR have had, or still have depression. I almost did as a matter of fact. This music is actually uplifting and they tell you that life is worth it. Gerard the lead singer himself is an absolute sweetheart! So are the rest of the band members too!! Their music is amazing and uplifting at times. And in the case of Welcome to the Black Parade, that was about a family member who had passed.

It was a sort of dedication. To the people writing these main reviews at the top, do your research before you say things like death-obsessed.

They do occasionally drop a few curse words, but nothing too irrational. This is definitely teen band. Personally, I think almost anyone can gain something from listening to them. I started listening to them when I was 10 and now I'm 16 and still loving them.

Adult Written by Frigginlobster December 28, Fantastic Music, Death-Related Music I think because of the slightly death-obsessed and explicit lyrics, it's ok for kids age This title contains: Language. Adult Written by AgnesWalker May 13, Enough of overreacting!

That this is awesome, and you overreacting people should just shut up. This is the real world y'know? There's no way you can make the world seem full of roses just by not letting your children hear albums just like this one. And there's a good message in this album, just listen to the song ' Welcome to Black Parade ' it's about carrying on after death, for example if a dear person to you dies, and even if it's really difficult, carry on, don't deprive yourself of the chances you still have to carry on with a good life.

Adult Written by endermaze June 16, The truth is that it deals with some pretty serious themes like cancer, death, regret For the genre of music that it is, it's themes aren't any worse than other albums and artists.

On the surface it seems dark and depressing, but really what it is, is an artistic way of dealing with feelings that are more dark.

If you look at it in a way that it is an artistic way to cope that its fine. That aside, artistically and musically, it is a really well done album. So think about it a bit deeper and give it a chance. This can refer to street crime, DUI, school shootings, drug and gang attacks, and all the other things that are predominantly done by teens that adults fear.

By the way, I love the song. These are high art. I write for a living, so I guess I know a little about the written word. The layers of meaning in this are fantastic. The middle-aged control-freaks subtly support the existence and cruelty of these cliques. They favor the kids who are dressed the best and are the best-looking.

Their cruelty to the other teens is something the adults have plausible deniability for. The only way he is allowed to stop the harassment is in the socially approved way of return violence, upheld by future conformity—while not getting caught.

If adults wanted to, we could stop the cliques—or we could stop them from being cruel by refusing to turn a blind eye and punishing cruel acts when they do them. We would see the cruel acts, if we wanted to. Adults choose not to see those acts, because the results suit their purposes. The middle-aged drones have their methods for neutralizing us, too.

I wish I had the energy and intelligence to home school my children. They do have to put up with alot of hell by being different, but it is worth it in the long run. It is good for them to have a parent that backs them. I love this song… it exemplifies exactly how I feel about teenagers.

They talked about sex, too… it was quite frightening. I stopped watching Barney when I was 11 once they started putting learning disabled kids on the show and messing it up. I really really like this song. It sends a strong message. It stands up for all teens out there. Their CDs are always o that effect. You can even see that the album has a theme, sickness, life, death. The whole parade to the nver never lands [if that makes an sense] I loved this song when I first heard it too, when i saw the video, i was a bit skeptical but not suprised, it is after all MCR.

You will always be tempted to try drugs if you are hanging with the wrong crowd. The art director probably owned those too.. It amazes me, those guys are still coming out with new stuff. Ash, good Point. Its all bad stuff. The video is set to be released on May 15th !

Cinemagypsy, I have to say that I am greatly enjoying your comments on this site!! They are supposedly given by the Twitter user by Kathmandu or K, the person who Bullets is written about. Way originally wanted to be a guitarist. His grandmother bought him his first guitar at the age of eight and he played in short-lived bands such as Ray Gun Jones and Nancy Drew with future bandmate Ray Toro, but when he was not successful one band kicking him out due to his lack of skill with the guitar , he chose to concentrate on his art career.

Seeing the effects of the attacks first-hand prompted Way to change his views on life in the following weeks. He told Spin magazine, "I literally said to myself, 'Fuck art. Music has turned out to be an effective means for Way to deal with his longtime battles against depression, alcoholism, and prescription drug use. The use of music as a way to resolve personal battles has caused Way to create deeply personal songs such as "Helena", which was written in memory of his late grandmother.

He is also credited with writing the lyrics, and singing alongside Himuro. The song is entitled "Safe and Sound" and was released on iTunes on April 29, On March 22, , the band officially broke up, but 6 years later on October 31st, , it was officially announced by the band via Instagram, Facebook, Twitter etc.

Gerard Way's first attempt at writing a comic was at the age of 16, writing a short-lived comic series called 'On Raven's Wings', which was cancelled after Issue 2 due to losing the art team; he was credited as Garry Way. In , Way began writing the comic-book miniseries The Umbrella Academy. Way wrote the story and illustrated the original version, but cartoonist Gabriel Ba recreated all of Way's original drawings in the final version.

A few of Way's first drawings of the characters can be seen in the last few pages of the first book in the series, "The Apocalypse Suite". When The Umbrella Academy was released, it was marketed as Gerard's first venture into comics.

Wear a child's T-shirt with a slogan such as 'Unhappy Chick' and drive a Vespa. Above all, 'show your inner despair by looking like you are too sad to eat. Obesity and emocity do not mix. The Emo song, by the American band Adam And Andrew, has cult status on the internet, appearing on many personal websites. It is called Dear Diary and is both witty and alarming. The chorus goes: 'Stop my breathing and slit my throat, I must be an Emo.

I don't jump around when I go to shows, I must be an Emo. Dye in my hair and polish on my toes, I must be an Emo. I play guitar and write suicide notes, I must be an Emo.

How many bedroom walls have been plastered with posters of drippy pre-Raphaelite heroines, or Marc Bolan or Kurt Curbain? When death is a long way off, you can afford to be more morbid about it. Film-makers note that horror films are now more popular than romance among young women. In particular, Goths and Emos are a rebellion against sporty, manly cultures - which is perhaps why they flourish particularly in North European countries or North America.

The androgynous nature of the Goths is appealing to the young because it is sexually unthreatening. Teenage girls are frightened of manliness: they like boys who look like girls. Kate Moss, the girl who never grows old, understands youthful taste completely. There is also a deadly glamour about the Goths. The word femme-fatale is Goth based. They have a sophistication and depth lacking in the blonde, bouncy chav faces which dominate our television screens and nightclubs.

Who are the male pin-ups for young girls? Johnny Depp and the comedian Russell Brand, who is about 90 per cent Goth. Lord Byron, of course, was the greatest Goth of all time. Emos have a strong arts graduate bias and are among the few that read poetry if only of the romantic, morbid kind. Some pretty terrible Emo poetry is offered on websites. A cartoon of two Emos has a bubble which says: 'What rhymes with razor blade? There is a genre, popular in Germany, known as Death Pop.

Although Goths are from the same family tree as punks, they are a lot less fun to be with. While I loved punk for its energy, Goths were too bloodless to lift a finger.
