Skip to content minecraft-java-edition I've built a mob spawning trap but mobs are not spawning. I've used a mapper to find all the caves in the immediate area and they are all lit. When I'm standing on the ground 35 blks below the spawn floor nothing will spawn. Sometimes plugins can disable mob spawning on your server using gamerules.
If your server's difficulty is set to easy then mobs won't naturally spawn on your server. If your server's view-distance setting is too small, it'll cause fewer mobs to spawn. Hostile mobs will spawn in and around your builds if there is not a high enough light level or if it is night time. Mobs such as creepers have the potential to destroy your creations, while others may attack you.
