The park's trail system is accessible year round and is considered a near-urban provincial park. Visitors can experience nature and sense of solitude.
For hikers there are four color marked trails through both scenic meadows and forest. From the parking lot, there are two different ways to start on the trails. The white trail is the longest trail and runs the total length of the park joining up with most of the other trails. At the end of the eastern blue trail, there is a spectacular view of the Thames River and surrounding country-side so be sure to bring along your camera. Climbers at Bon Echo must be members of the Alpine Club of Canada or register at the park office with park staff. This near-urban park is located along the scenic Thames River. Much of the park is former agricultural land now succeeding to meadows, the river portion is located in mature forests.
