Google music beta can you download

We got our Beta invite to the service last night, and were blown away by how easy it is to use. If you're already married to iTunes , Google Music will sync your library to your online account without you having to do anything. And Android users no longer have to worry about taking up space on their phone with songs.

Instead, you can stream your entire library. If you aren't connected, your most recent songs are cached on the phone so you can listen offline. The only downside we found was the painfully slow upload time. If you have a massive library, be prepared for it to take days to sync up. If you haven't done so yet, you can sign up for a Google Music Beta invite at music.

You can also download the new Android app here. While you're waiting, check out our walkthrough of the service at the link below. For you. In the grand scheme of things, these are pretty minor complaints. But taken as a whole they really ruin the experience — especially because we have come to expect very good things from Google and the rest of the smartphone manufacturing industry.

The cloud music game is too high-profile of a game to flop. You can bet that Apple will come out of the gates swinging — along with just about any other competitor. Google was pretty jovial about how it was handling its most significant competitor in the smartphone market.

But you need to be able to back up your position with superior applications and devices. Download the Music app from the Android Market. Once installed, select the Google account you'd like to associate with the app--it should be the same one you used to request an invite. The app will pull songs from your internal storage and any music you've uploaded to your Music Beta account requires an invite.

Play music. Tap a song to play it, or hit the arrow to the right of any song and select Play. Shuffle and repeat options can be found in the "now playing" screen, while skipping, playing, and pausing are always available in the bottom bar. Make an Instant Mix.
