Although Cantonese is a common dialect spoken on a daily basis in Hong Kong, government officials and schools are required to use Mandarin dialect. Kim, Lee and Park are the most common surnames in Korea. Absolutely, although I can't say we are expert Korean speakers there are certainly a number of similarities with how the names are displayed.
