From a young age I had a passion for science and people and loved the idea of applying that knowledge to disease management which fuelled my interest in a medical vocation. I loved my time as a student, so much so I extended my training by a year to complete an intercalated BSC Honours in Pharmacology before graduating in I have worked all over South East Scotland since then and have now decided to focus my attentions on developing a career in Anaesthesia and Pre-Hospital Emergency Medicine.
I love the variety my job brings and the opportunities and experiences it has allowed me to have. There is no need to resit a Higher if you are taking Advanced Higher in same subject. Additional documentation that is sent directly to the Medical Admissions Office in support of an application can only be considered if it is received by the UCAS deadline of 15 October.
We require five programmes of study, to demonstrate breadth and volume, in order to cope with the academic demands and rigour of Medical School. A typical offer would be to achieve BBB in S6. If our S5 requirements are not met, a typical offer will be conditional upon achieving a minimum of the grades below in three appropriate subjects in S6.

For medicine and veterinary medicine, only your first attempt at each subject will be considered unless there are extenuating circumstances. The course consists of three units and a research assignment.
Each unit is assessed at unit level by a short minimum competency test that must be passed. Biology: Sustainability and Interdependence The research assignment forms part of the final assessment grade it is written under exam conditions and assessed by the SQA. The rest of the grade is made up by the exam in May. Higher biology is suitable for pupils who have gained a pass at national 5. Those with A and B grades are likely to complete the higher over one year whilst C grades will benefit from a two year pathway.
Advanced Higher Biology This Course is designed for all learners who can respond to a level of challenge especially those considering further study or a career in biology and related disciplines. This Course is suitable for learners who are very secure in their learning of the Higher Biology Course and demonstrate this by having achieved and A or B grade in the Higher biology, Human Biology Course or an equivalent qualification.
This Course emphasises practical and experiential learning opportunities, with a strong skills-based approach to learning. Much of the knowledge content will be delivered as self-study and tutorial sessions.
Pupils choosing any of the science advanced Highers must be committed to independent learning.
